THE APARTMENT NETWORK
The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry has remained agile throughout Covid. While many events were postponed, a large number went virtual, and the future is hybrid. By embracing change and looking to technology, Hybrid events will give MICE events an opportunity to grow audiences.
We have seen what pent-up demand looks like in the leisure travel market. Business travel and MICE will not be far behind. Across the world, unlike ever before, we are looking forward to being able to meet in person, to network, to build relationships, to do business.
A new way to stay
However, many are also considering how they travel and where they stay, with companies updating Travel Policies, looking at Duty of Care, and listening to traveller demands. There is a new trend in booking serviced apartments over hotels – for the space, privacy, and flexibility that an apartment provides, along with the safe, self-catered environment.
Millennials started the trend, Covid has grown it.
A cost-effective solution
We looked at one conference in London, where the conference website links to hotels in the local area, convenient for event participants, from set-up and production teams to attendees. On average, a hotel room for five nights would cost £1,550 per person. The same stay in an apartment could save you as much as 50%.
Multiply this by 10 employees and savings become significant, factor in shared apartments and the savings increase. T&E expenses are likely to be lower as well as expensive hotel dining will be reduced.
How we can help
The Apartment Network is a specialist booking agency dealing only in professionally managed serviced apartments. We provide a highly competitive offering to event organisers, attendees and others involved in the set-up, that tend to stay in hotels.
A nicer way to stay
Apartments are a nicer way to stay, especially for stays over 3 nights. Instead of a small, impersonal hotel room, guests take advantage of a fully furnished apartment complete with fully equipped kitchen. While eating out is enjoyable, night after night it can become tedious. An apartment allows you to cook in, order takeaway or take advantage of a meal service like Hello Fresh. A separate sleeping and living area is also a bonus – especially if you need to hold meetings or work away from the office or venue. The home from home environment is fast becoming the choice for many.
